Savage + Dodd Architects based in Johannesburg South Africa are a small Practice with big ideas. The Practice was founded by Colin Savage and Heather Dodd in 1998.
We believe in the power of design in restorative spatial justice and urban resilience. This is reflected in the scope of projects within the public realm undertaken in the Practice.
These range from social housing and urban regeneration projects in the inner city of Johannesburg to public buildings and university facilities. Savage + Dodd Architects have built a reputation for being able to synthesize complex briefs and design buildings that creatively respond to the challenges of their contexts. The scale of our projects has ranged from new buildings to complex adaptive reuse and retrofits.
Savage + Dodd Architects has been the recipient of several local and international design awards.
